THE REAL THIRD RAIL ISSUE - V2

BELIEVING THAT ONLY ONE SILVER BULLET FIX IS NEEDED TO PRESERE SMALL COMMUNITY AIR SERVICE:

POOR ECONOMICS + POOR PUBLIC POLICY = LESS SERVICE

In the first thought paper released in February 2022, Swelbar and Boyd exposed many reasons why the U.S. regional airline industry and small community air service are at a crossroads. The story playing across most news outlets is reasoned because of a pilot shortage and that it is the regional sector that is the first to suffer. While true, it is not the entire reason, or even close to the entire reason why small community air service is under the klieg light of providers, regulators, legislators, and other stakeholders alike.
